Charlie's Birthday Parties

I have really enjoyed throwing birthday parties for the kids over the last 5 years.  The first four years, we just had our families come over to the house.  It was the only time both of our families and our closest friends were able to catch-up and celebrate together. This past year, for Charlie's 5th birthday, we decided to let him have a "friend party".  He loved it and we decided from this point on we would just celebrate with the four of us and maybe do a cook-out during the spring/summer for our families to get together.  And then on "milestone" years....maybe 5, 10, etc...have a friend party.  We haven't exactly decided what age those "milestone" birthdays will fall on, but hopefully switching things up will be less stressful (hard to do a family and friend party)! We'll have to see how it all works out....it's easier said than done.  I want to try to include a picture of the birthday boy (and girl in a later post) and the theme/invitation from that party so I don't forget!
